Justin Ellis has spent the last seven years working to educate, inform and inspire Alabama citizens of the beauty and uniqueness of Alabama's waterways.

He served as the Watershed Leadership Director of the Alabama Rivers Alliance from 1997 until 2001 where he organized grassroots community groups to protect local streams and waterbodies.

In 2001 he became the leading researcher for the "Citizen's Guide to Alabama Rivers" series developed by Alabama Water Watch with funding from EPA and ADEM.

He currently serves as the Executive Director of a small watershed protection organization in the North Georgia Mountains known as the Soque River Watershed Association. In his free time he serves as the Board President for the Georgia River Network, enjoys further developing this website, and tries to canoe and Mountain Bike in and around north Georgia as much as humanly possible.
